In 1944 Harry Wilson Cooper, known by his family and friends as “HW”, bought his first Mack concrete mixer and put one of his two sons to work in a small rural town in Western Pennsylvania about 50 miles North of Pittsburgh. Prior to 1944, HW manufactured concrete block and operated sand & gravel quarries so the transition into ready mixed concrete was a natural fit. H.W. Cooper & Sons evolved into Cooper Bros, Inc., where HW’s great grandson, Bart W. Jones, worked with his Father and Brother and learned the business. Today he and his family carry on the tradition of quality concrete, real customer service, attention to detail and signature orange colors.
